This was the story of a young girl from Algeria who moved to Malaysia for work. She was doing well, and everything was fine. Then, her parents found a man for her to marry, so she went back to her country. She spent a few months talking with him, and eventually, they got married. She returned to Malaysia with her husband.
After they got married, her husband started to change a little, and he wasn’t what she expected. Still, things were going okay until two months ago when she got sick. They went to the hospital, and the doctor found some minor issues and gave her medicine, but the medicine didn’t work. She went to other hospitals, but every doctor said they didn’t understand why the medicine wasn’t working.
She underwent all kinds of tests, took various medications, and received treatment for almost two months, but she wasn’t getting better, and no doctor could find any problems.
Carelessness of Husband
Eventually, there was suspicion that it might be a case of black magic. Her friends asked her when it all started. She said it began when her mother-in-law sent her some food. After eating that food, she started feeling sick. We talked to her husband and asked him to at least take her to a Healer or Priest to check if it could be black magic. There was nothing wrong with that. But he suddenly got angry and told everyone not to visit her anymore.
Family and Friends Step In
I couldn’t reach her, but I tried to stay updated about her situation. Her husband refused to take her to any religious healer for treatment and didn’t want to go back to Algeria. She asked him to let her see her mother, but he didn’t agree. He didn’t even let her talk to her mother. Things got really bad. Her friends tried to meet her but couldn’t. So, they contacted her parents and told them everything. Her parents had no idea that their daughter was so sick. Whenever they called, her husband would say they were busy, couldn’t talk, or that she was resting because of a mild fever.
Journey back home
After learning the truth, her mother started calling her husband and pressured him to send her home. Finally, he agreed, and they tried to go back to Algeria. Her condition was so bad that she couldn’t walk, so they had to use a wheelchair. Their transit was in Qatar, but when they reached Qatar, the authorities stopped them. They didn’t allow them to continue to Algeria because they were sure that the woman might die during the flight. So, they sent her to the airport hospital.
They stayed in the hospital for a week, but Qatar wasn’t willing to let her board the plane because her condition wasn’t improving, and they feared she might die. However, after many requests from her mother, relatives, and everyone, Qatar finally allowed them to go. She finally made it to her mother. The first thing her mother did was take her to a religious healer. At the healer’s place, she vomited some hair, nails, and pins from her mouth, and after that, she became completely well. She regained her health, returned to Malaysia, and is now working there again. The healer clearly said that the black magic came from food given by her mother-in-law. Her husband didn’t agree, but due to his neglect, they got divorced.
Reflections from a Psychologist
Now, you might be wondering why, as a psychologist, I’m sharing a story about something supernatural. It’s because, even though I was a psychologist, I didn’t want to limit myself to academic knowledge alone. My religious teachings have made me aware that jinns exist and that this kind of black magic can happen. When science couldn’t help her, and she was close to death, spiritual help saved her. What matters most is that she was saved. Life is always important. Another thing is that people do black magic for different reasons, and it does happen—no one can deny that.
A Cautionary Note
However, when I say she got help from a healer, I’m not promoting going to just any healer. In fact, if you went to a fake healer, they could harm you and even put black magic on you instead of curing you. I wasn’t promoting them, and I always recommended seeking treatment from doctors first. At the same time, if things weren’t getting better, you could consider spiritual healing, but only from someone you truly trusted. Otherwise, things could go wrong. Be careful.
